Are you ready for these new challenges?Apply now for the position of: Engineer (m/f/d) Certification of Approval for LocomotivesThe “Locomotives Engineering” department, in collaboration with our headquarters in Germany, is responsible for creating the vehicle control systems for Siemens locomotives. We are currently looking for reinforcements to support the certification process for electric and dual-mode locomotives within the European approval framework.Your tasks:You plan and create certification evidence for vehicle control systems, focusing on train safety, data recorders, and train communication.Through requirements management, you ensure that all requirements are available in a timely manner.Successful implementation relies on close collaboration with system engineering departments, certification authorities, suppliers and evaluation and inspection bodies (assessors, NoBo, DeBo, SW assessors, and regulatory authorities) – both in the office environment and on the vehicle.You take responsibility for timely and complete evidence provision.You act as an organizer for evidence management and scheduling.Together with colleagues from the department, you continuously develop work processes. The alignment of evidence strategy with our product needs and regulations is always a priority.You continuously expand your system knowledge and gain a broad functional perspective on the vehicle control systems of our locomotives.Your talents and abilities:You have successfully completed a technical degree (e.g., electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics).You have several years of professional experience in the rail vehicle sector, and technical challenges excite you.You are familiar with the European certification process for rail vehicles and the complex normative and legal foundations.Ideally, you already have knowledge of European train control systems (e.g., ETCS, LZB/PZB, SCMT, etc.) from their development, integration, evidence provision, operation, or maintenance.You excel in independently driving complex technical matters and processes, and you have an interest in modular, configurable engineering conditions.Managing stakeholders (customers, authorities, suppliers, internal) independently comes naturally to you as a team player.Your proficient skills in English and your German language skills (B2 or better) complete your profile.
