The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs. Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus). Your responsibilities Sizing and stress analysis of airframe structures by means of hand calculations, numerical simulations (FEM) and optimization techniques. Structural analysis of structures in accordance with aerospace analysis methodologies and the applicable regulatory frameworks (EASA Part-21, J and CS27). Conducts trade studies as part of the development of the Kopter products. Conducts static and fatigue analysis for structures as part of the process of obtaining a prototype permit to flight or aircraft type certificate. Participates in definition of material and structural tests. Preparation of analysis reports, technical notes and presentations. Prepares and manages work packages performed internally and externally. Follows and supports the flight test activities with focus on structures (definition of static and fatigue monitoring limits, review of flight test data). Your qualifications MSc degree in Aerospace/Mechanical or Structural Engineering or related discipline. Understanding of lightweight structures design. Minimum 5 years of professional experience in aerospace/aviation. Knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory framework (EASA Part-21, J and CS27). English minimum B2 level (spoken and written). Comfortable in high pace environment with high pressure to deliver. Comfortable with multi-tasking and juggling several tasks simultaneously. Comfortable working with limited guidance and self-motivated. Essential: Comfortable with working from first principles. Experience and knowledge of traditional hand calculation methods. Experience and knowledge of composite materials and analysis. Experience and knowledge of FEA using Hyperworks, Hypermesh and Nastran/Optistruct or other packages.
