Public Cloud Director
I am working with a leading company in their field that is seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Cloud Director. This role reports directly to the Group's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and involves leading an agile, multi-disciplinary, and cross-cultural Public Cloud organization across Europe and the world.
My client has a hybrid public cloud (Azure/AWS) as well as a private cloud and your role will be to be a key driver of the group's Digital Transformation strategy and supporting the service's digital roadmap in relation to the Public Cloud. This role is responsible for establishing public cloud standards, developing orchestration and automation blueprints, and implementing best practices to meet the cloud requirements of the internal IT and product development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a diverse team of approximately 50 Full-Time Employees + Externals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
2. Ensure the effective management of cloud services, including platform architecture, performance management, cloud operations, and security.
3. Develop and implement cloud product strategies and cloud development management processes.
4. Oversee talent management, team development, and service strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
5. Manage multi-million budgets and develop strategies for vendor and supplier relationships.
6. Support 'Cloud First' strategy as a key enabler of the group's Digital Transformation, aligning with the service's digital roadmap.
7. Create public cloud standards, orchestration and automation blueprints, and best practices to meet the cloud demands of internal IT and product development teams.
8. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cloud service delivery and operational efficiency.
9. Identify and mitigate risks associated with cloud operations and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
10. Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to understand and address their cloud-related needs and challenges.
11. Implement robust monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track the performance and health of cloud services.
12. Develop and deliver training programs to upskill team members and promote a culture of continuous learning.
13. Lead the response to major incidents, ensuring timely resolution and communication with stakeholders.
14. Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans for cloud adoption and integration within the organization.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in leading public cloud initiatives, particularly with Azure and AWS.
2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
3. Expertise in cloud service management, platform architecture, and cloud operations.
4. Experience in managing large budgets and vendor relationships.
5. Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
6. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
