Support the EMEA Head of Analytics & Business Insights in improving the efficiency of existing processes related to Renewal monitoring, UW Plan, Performance Review and technical steering of the P&C portfolio.
Taking care of Renewals and plan processes for EMEA Underwriting teams involves collecting data, inputting into tools, and producing reports, analysis, and presentations. Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Underwriting Plan process
* Enhancing analytics related to UW Plan
Portfolio Analysis and Reporting
* Monitoring business performance: analyzing and identifying areas for improvement to enhance company results
* Developing and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) and updating break-even UWR
* Maintaining data and tools used for quarterly performance monitoring
* Preparing Reinsurance performance review presentations based on developed analytics
Renewals
* Providing active support in the Renewal monitoring and reporting process in EMEA, working closely with Underwriting, Pricing, and Catastrophe modeling teams
* Maintaining existing tools and analytics
* Communicating with the Underwriting community to ensure updated figures are presented during renewal monitoring
Process and Tools Enhancement
* Improving data accuracy and process efficiency by automating tasks wherever possible and exploring technical solutions
* Working on IT tool development to support underwriting teams
Requirements
* 3-5 years of experience in the insurance sector, preferably in a technical function (actuarial, modeling, or underwriting support)
* Knowledge of the European insurance market
* Understanding of the reinsurance rating environment from a technical and business perspective is an asset
* Ability to understand strategic business goals and make recommendations to business leaders and underwriters that align with company objectives
* Proficiency in applying business analysis methodologies in various situations
* Excellent IT skills, including programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R
* Prior experience with Tableau or Power BI is a plus
* Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including Power Queries
* Good organizational and communication skills in English
* Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks, requiring prioritization
* Analytical, rigorous, attention to detail, and accuracy
* Pro-active attitude and willingness to take on new challenges
* Curiosity and interest in working on topics outside of core competencies within a multinational environment
Education Requirements
* We seek a highly skilled technical professional with a quantitative background (e.g., Master of Science in Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science)
* Data scientist or actuarial background is preferred; qualified actuary is an asset
* Further insurance or financial-related studies are advantageous
