Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join our Intellectual Property Division as a Legal Counsel for IP Contracts and Content.
In this role, you will provide legal advice and support to the IOC and its affiliated entities on IP contracts and content related matters. Your expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents and IP-related contracts will be essential in ensuring the success of our events and partnerships.
Main Responsibilities:
* Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating IP licenses, performer agreements, music-related agreements, and content clearance agreements.
* Assisting with the drafting of various IOC guidelines.
* Working closely with diverse internal and external stakeholders across various cultures and political contexts.
* Proactively leading and building trust, fostering partnerships across diverse teams and stakeholders while balancing legal requirements with business goals.
* Advising and supporting the IOC and its affiliated entities, and where necessary, the Organizing Committees, National Olympic Committees, and other Olympic Movement members and stakeholders on IP contracts and content-related matters.
Qualifications:
* Law degree and bar qualification.
* Ideally an LL.M or master's degree in IP or a related field.
* 7+ years of progressive experience as in-house or external counsel in relation to content (e.g., multimedia, audiovisual, music, etc.) and/or merchandising, in the event and content production, distribution, and/or commercialization industries.
This role requires outstanding contractual drafting and negotiation skills, as well as strong oral and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Chinese, French, and/or other languages is advantageous.
