Job Description
The Accounting Manager will be in charge of the following:
Accounting and Financial Operations
1. Oversee and manage all accounting operations for both Swiss and French offices, and ensure compliance with local accounting standards.
2. Coordinate the consolidation of financial statements from both countries, aligning with international accounting standards where applicable; this is the main part of the position, considering it is key for the structure's development to globally structure accounting and consolidation.
3. Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements in France and Switzerland. For other regions, adapt to each audit requirement to coordinate with the local team.
4. Seek improvement opportunities and provide leadership to guide the global team in adopting these practices.
5. Maintain the chart of accounts.
Cash Management
1. Manage the cash needs in the head office and the regions, ensuring the right level of cash is available in various entities, and its reporting.
2. Manage banking relationships, acting as a liaison with banks to facilitate wire transfers and optimize transactions globally. Serve as the liaison with other financial institutions.
Compliance
1. Maintain current working knowledge of pertinent accounting and other regulatory requirements to ensure compliance. Identify and adopt sector-standard best practices.
2. Serve as the main point of contact for detailed interactions with external auditors and tax accountants.
3. Comply with and complete necessary reporting for any local, state, and national government reporting requirements, tax filings, and other filings.
This position includes 1 direct report management, helping with accounting operations, and strong involvement in the global deployment project of a new ERP.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal profile should present:
1. Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
2. Strong knowledge of IFRS and international accounting standards
3. 10+ years of accounting experience, specifically in France and/or Switzerland within an international context
4. Proven experience with the accounting standards and regulatory environments of France and/or Switzerland, and financial consolidation
5. Fluent in English and French
6. High level of integrity and ethical standards
This position will require strong motivation and resilience, as the structuring of accounting on a global scale will necessitate adapted communication, solutions, and change management.
