As the Head of SEO, you will play a centric, critical, and key role in driving the organic growth of the entire lastminute.com group, improving visibility, traffic, and conversions to our properties.
Your biggest challenge would be to set a robust and scalable SEO strategy for different brands (lastminute.com, weg.de, volagratis.it, rumbo.es, bravofly.com) for different products (hotel, flight, holiday packages, car rental, experience) in more than 30 countries.
You will be responsible for managing a team of SEO experts, distributed in different geographies, and collaborate/influence the other teams to support you in pursuit of your SEO goal. The Head of SEO will work very closely with our technical, content, and product teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute an effective and comprehensive SEO strategy, aligning it with business objectives and focusing on improving organic search rankings, organic traffic, and conversions.
* Lead a team of SEO experts, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure the team's continuous growth and success.
* Coordinate, communicate, and influence other teams which can support you in the SEO growth. It’s fundamental to establish a positive relationship, work with them in a shared roadmap, and be able to understand the tech complexity in order to prioritize.
* Monitor, analyze, and present the channel results to the main stakeholders, including any market fluctuations depending on external factors such as competitions rather than Google Core updates.
* Stay up to date with the latest trends, algorithm changes, and best practices in SEO, user search behavior, adapting strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Skills and Experience:
Essential
* Proven experience in the same role, preferably within the travel industry, with a track record of improving organic search rankings and driving organic traffic growth.
* Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of SEO experts.
* In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms, and tools, with specific experience in optimizing large-scale websites.
* Solid understanding in technical SEO, proven experience working on technical SEO features such as structured data, snippets, breadcrumbs, and other SEO tech improvements.
* Proficiency in using SEO tools and analytics platforms, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, or similar tools.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data, make data-driven decisions, and provide actionable insights for optimization.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across multiple countries.
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
* Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
* Fluent in spoken and written English.
