Business Development Manager/Developer
The Electrical Safety Solutions (ESS) business unit at Sécheron Hasler Group seeks an ambitious and experienced Business Development Manager/Developer to drive financial growth through enhanced sales and in-depth market assessments.
1. To develop and implement a growth strategy for ESS, covering existing and new products for railway, renewable energy, and industrial applications, ensuring sustainable business growth.
2. To identify business opportunities and provide market insights guiding product roadmap development in R&D and supporting the sales team to increase sales effectiveness.
3. Drive and support product line managers, product development, and the sales team in developing product economics.
4. Develop and implement a growth strategy focusing on both growth and financial objectives in close collaboration with the sales organization.
5. Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities in railway, industrial, and renewable energy applications, guide the development of new business segments, and inform the product roadmap.
6. Develop business cases for individual products in cooperation with product line managers and the sales team.
7. Define, drive, and track the implementation of corresponding action plans in close collaboration with the sales team and product line managers.
8. Prepare product launch and market placement plans in close cooperation with marketing, sales, and product line managers.
9. Prepare and maintain a comparative analysis of competitors' products to support the sales network's promotional efforts and inform product line managers.
10. Prepare and organize key information for the business.
11. Arrange business meetings with prospective clients to develop business opportunities.
12. Provide market feedback to product development teams and after-sales support.
Requirements
* Technical degree in electrical engineering or power electronics.
* Further education in industrial product marketing/business administration desirable.
* At least 10 years' experience as an international Business Developer in an industrial B2B environment.
* Successful track record introducing power products to new clients, driving key people across the organization.
* Proven working experience as a successful business development manager/developer on an international scale.
* Good knowledge of at least one of the following industry sectors: high voltage, railway traction systems, power transmission & distribution, renewable energy, and e-mobility.
* Interest and ability to understand DC and AC power systems and corresponding product needs.
* Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
* Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to develop convincing communication strategies based on technical rationale.
* Proven ability to think creatively, identify, and resolve problems.
* Experienced in working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
* High integrity and trustworthiness, open and transparent.
* Open to frequent travel.
* Excellent communication skills in English; French and/or German are desirable. Other languages are a plus.
