Urban Transformation Lead
This role will play a critical part in driving our urban transformation agenda. You will work closely with cities and local governments to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex urban challenges.
Key areas of responsibility include:
* Partner and Funder Development
o Develop and implement a global outreach strategy to engage partners and funders in our urban transformation work.
o Collaborate with cities to establish local coalitions that can support the launch and implementation of place-based innovation challenges.
o Identify and connect potential partners with relevant cities to foster new collaborations.
o Secure funding agreements with partners to support new place-based innovation challenges.
o Work with the UpLink team to develop an onboarding program for place-based innovation challenges.
* Community Engagement and Support
o Develop a year-round program of activities to cultivate and grow a community of pioneer cities.
o Organize workshops to help pioneer cities develop and refine their focus on place-based innovation challenges.
o Lead Steering Committee meetings to provide updates on progress and track key success metrics.
o Organize site visits for pioneer cities to learn from successful innovation ecosystems.
* Strategic Planning and Communications
o Develop a five-year strategic plan for the launch and growth of the Yes Cities global network.
o Collaborate with the Urban Transformation and UpLink teams to develop marketing materials and documentation for place-based innovation challenges.
o Develop communications strategies to translate this work into compelling narratives and mobilize collective action.
Requirements and Experience
* Masters degree in urban development, urban planning, or related field preferred.
* 7+ years of experience working on urban issues and/or developing innovation ecosystems.
* Track record of successful business development and public-private collaborations.
* Experience managing complex projects and communities, including interacting with executive leaders.
* Excellent writing and communications skills, including creation of presentations and outreach materials.
* Domestic and international travel up to 20-30% required.
* Strong abilities with MS Office Suite and project management tools.
