EMEA Recruitment is supporting a global leader in the FMCG space in its search for a Buyer Raw Materials to strengthen their procurement team in Zurich.
In this role, you will take ownership of sourcing and managing raw materials, ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and supply continuity. You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive sourcing strategies, optimise costs, and mitigate risks across the supply chain.
As Buyer Raw Materials the key responsibilities include:
Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials, with specific commodity touch points on Oils, Emulsifiers and other raw materials linked to the Food & Beverage space
Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to optimise cost, quality, and service
Monitor market trends, risks and opportunities - acting in a trading capacity to ensure market changes can be mitigated
Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with company policies, sustainability goals, and risk management frameworks
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data and insights to enhance procurement processes
Your Profile:
Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of procurement experience, ideally within raw materials sourcing in the Food & Beverages or Chemicals industries
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with a strategic and analytical mindset
Experience in risk management, cost modelling, and supplier governance frameworks
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams
Fluent in English; German or another European language is a plus
