The position requires the development of cutting-edge automated and robot-assisted experimental setups, working in a collaborative environment with experienced researchers. The primary focus will be on enhancing and maintaining LabView programs to automate mechanical experiments, acquire data, and perform post-processing operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implementation of automated experimental systems, incorporating components such as programming cards, machine vision, robotics, and data acquisition software using National Instruments LabView.
* Collaborative design and construction of testing equipment, including both mechanical and electrical aspects, with team members.
* Maintenance and operation of existing devices, ensuring seamless functionality.
* Ad-hoc machining of simple parts or devices required for laboratory operations.
* Procurement of materials and components, along with communication with suppliers.

Requirements
* Tech vocational training or higher, focusing on Mechatronics/Electronics.
* A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the industry or a similar setting.
* Familiarity with automation techniques and robotic systems used in experimental setups.
* Experience in acquiring, processing, and analyzing experimental data.
* Proficiency in developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting LabView programs.
Skills
* CAD software expertise, preferably Dassault SolidWorks, for designing mechanical parts and assemblies.
* Familiarity with setting up and conducting mechanical experiments, preferably with universal testing machines and split Hopkinson pressure bar systems.
* Basic skills in machining using CNC-machines or other machine shop tools.
* Knowledge of bonding techniques, such as glueing and soldering of strain gauges.
* Fluency in English and proficiency in German (B1).
