We are looking for a Business Analyst with proven experience interfacing with customers and teams to define and develop comprehensive product requirements, refine product features into meaningful user stories, and facilitate delivery, analysis and iteration throughout the Agile lifecycle. A successful Business Analyst will build a strong working knowledge of business and technical requirements that support our products and data.
Responsibilities
1. Work with stakeholders, Product Owners, and agile team members to develop and prioritize concise and testable epics, features, and user stories based on user needs, program strategy/roadmap, policy/program requirements, and hypothesized value as part of the development of healthy product or team backlog. Ensure backlog items are well-defined and ready for development and lead backlog refinement sessions.
2. Engage closely with the Agile team, ensuring clear communication and successful execution of product requirements and acceptance criteria. Educate the team on requirements and business background to help ensure delivery of key outcomes. Support the testing and validation of user stories against acceptance criteria.
3. Build programmatic and technical subject matter expertise through research and fact-finding to produce concise, accurate requirements and systems documentation. Maintain technical documentation, ensuring it is up to date with systems iteration and evolution.
4. Establish an understanding of user needs, behaviors, and pain points, in addition to an understanding of overarching goals of the program, to build and guide product strategy and product requirements. Complete gap analyses to ensure requirements comprehensively solve business problems.
5. Build a trusting, open, and communicative relationship with clients and stakeholders to effectively communicate and clarify requirements between stakeholders, including clients, development teams, and leadership.
6. Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams and align everyone towards shared goals and effectively define, refine, and execute product requirements. Recognize opportunities to improve collaboration and introduce new collaboration approaches / processes.
7. Perform duties of a scrum master, specifically, managing the product backlog in JIRA and prioritizing based on business value and complexity, conducting Agile ceremonies, tracking and reporting team work in JIRA, facilitating team collaboration, and planning and managing releases.
Requirements
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1. 4-7 years related experience as a software Business Analyst.
2. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
3. Proficiency in agile process and Agile management/documentation tools (ex: JIRA, Confluence).
4. Competency in using visualization tools (ex: Visio, Lucid) to create meaningful systems diagrams and business logic documentation.
5. Proven ability to be collaborative within cross-functional teams and recognize opportunities to improve collaboration and introduce new approaches/processes.
6. Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude. Ability to interpret data to identify trends and inform decision-making. Willingness to take initiative and foster innovation within the team.
7. Flexible, willing to “roll up sleeves” to resolve gaps, and adaptable to change in priorities.
8. Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive towards clarity and resolution.
9. Candidate must reside in the United States and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Desired Qualifications
1. Domain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid or healthcare verticals.
2. Understanding of CMS Medicare business processes, specifically related to entitlement, enrollment and premium billing processes.
3. Familiarity with Case Management functions.
eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager. Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.
