The ams OSRAM Group is a global leader in optical solutions. By adding intelligence to light and passion to innovation, we enrich peoples' lives. This is what we mean by Sensing is Life. Our around 26,000 employees worldwide focus on innovation across sensing, illumination, and visualization to make journeys safer, medical diagnoses more accurate, and daily moments in communication a richer experience.
Responsibilities: As part of the Engineering team at the Innovation Office, you will be responsible for optical, thermal, and electrical characterization of sensor prototypes, LEDs, semiconductor lasers, optics, ASICs, etc.
Responsible for the creation of new automated setups and modeling of the setup.
Analysis of data, creation of algorithms for data analysis, figures of merit, and key performance indicators.
Reporting and sharing your results with the rest of the team and providing comprehensive documentation.
Verification and validation of prototypes versus specifications and expectations.
Discuss with vendors and suppliers, acquire equipment for the characterization of the samples/prototypes.
Automation of measurements and equipment, and root cause analysis and failure mode effect analysis.
Create models to match the measurements and benchmarking to different solutions.
Minimum Requirements: Technical degree in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Optoelectronics, etc.
Experience in characterization (test, verification, and validation) of sensor systems based (preferably) on optoelectronic components (LEDs, VCSELs). Examples: ToF sensors and illuminators, Eye/Hand tracking devices, sensors for robots, mobile, AR/VR devices, wearables, laser modules, spectrometer sensors, industrial sensing.
Experience with noise characterization and hands-on experience in automation of measurements in a lab.
Experience with Python and MATLAB (any other is a plus). Experience with systems engineering processes.
Experience with Gitlab/Github/BitBucket, 3D printing, PCB design, and mechanical design and manufacturing is a plus.
Ability to manage priorities of multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment combined with attention to detail and an innovative mindset.
Interest in different areas, from physical first principles to application engineering.
