This position is based in the beautiful town of. As the Head of the Quality Control (QC) Project Lead team for Mammalian BU, you are responsible for providing leadership to your organization and ensuring a robust and reliable product supply to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assume overall responsibility for departmental budget and generate agility and flexibility from within sub-teams.
2. Oversee and manage departmental performance and quality metrics.
3. Provide leadership to managers/supervisors to ensure organizational readiness to absorb current and future growth business.
4. Develop an effective and cohesive teamwork, fostering close collaboration with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
5. Drive a lean mindset and establish mechanisms for continuous improvement initiatives to be executed in line with the plan.
6. Develop strategy and plan to ensure Capacity are fit for demand (short-, mid-, and long-term).
7. Anticipate delivering on strong stakeholder expectations in a matrix environment.
Key Requirements:
1. MSc or PhD in Life Science Biochemistry/Biotechnology with significant work experience in the GxP controlled Biologics/Biopharmaceutical/Pharmaceutical industry.
2. Demonstrated leadership skills in leading bigger teams (> 20 FTE) in a matrix environment.
3. Strong problem-solving and scientific project management skills (experience in applying Lean methodologies is a plus, e.g. 5Why, 6M).
4. In-depth knowledge of QC lab operations and requirements of GxP Regulations and guidance of Health Canada, US-FDA, EU, in particular data integrity and various compendia (USP, EP, JP).
5. Eager to drive results and mobilize teams and stakeholders with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders (e.g. executive management, peers, teams, as well as customers, regulators, and health authorities).
6. Change management experience is a strong advantage.
7. Fluency in English is a must; communication skills in German are an advantage.
