The Position
Our Global Product Strategy (GPS) team plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare by driving the strategic direction of our innovative product portfolio. As a member of the GPS team, you will be at the forefront of transforming groundbreaking scientific discoveries into accessible and impactful healthcare solutions for patients worldwide. The Business Enablement Team (BET) is part of the Business Excellence department whose mission is to maximize the patient’s benefit and ROI of Roche pipeline and portfolio, creating and executing global commercialization strategies at the Disease Area and Asset levels.
Your mission as the Head of Business Enablement is to lead the teams to:
1. Provide expertise and ownership of strategic planning processes from early development through to commercialization, ensuring standardization, consistency, and quality of strategic plans.
2. Identify skill gaps and training needs across the organization to maximize the required organizational commercialization capabilities and develop and deliver the training programs appropriately.
3. Support the effective functioning, strategic success, and impact of the Commercialization Leadership Teams (CLTs).
4. Ensure that you and the team are strong partners to the different strategy teams and leaders and support the delivery of high-quality strategy plans and training programs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Capability & Training Lead team (5), support the identification of capability/skill gaps and training needs across the organization, and ensure the development and delivery of corresponding training programs aligned with the Pharma Strategy or the commercialization gaps.
2. Lead Strategic Process & Change Lead team (5), establish a consistent approach to the strategic planning processes, share best practices, and ensure continuous improvement that will deliver high-quality strategic plans. Support any major GPS initiatives.
3. Lead the Program Manager team (10) in collaboration with the team leader, support the establishment of the new commercialization model and the development of high-performing teams delivering high-quality DA Commercialization strategy and its efficient realization.
4. Collaborate across the organization to continually develop the conditions required for advancing the compelling vision for commercialization, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
5. Connect with Senior stakeholders (e.g., Global Head of Business Excellence, head of CSL) to be aware and capture any emerging needs, set priorities, and align resources to the business needs.
6. As an active member of the PNET, collaborate effectively with the enablement teams of the different functions and support on-demand pharma-wide initiatives. Facilitate change adoption, capabilities creation, and goals achievement.
7. Coach the Business Enablement teams members to ensure the BET is delivering true value to the organization and create an environment where individuals thrive and grow in their own development.
8. Ensure an environment of transparency, fast value creation, rigorous prioritization, and customer centricity.
Required Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
1. MBA or other relevant Graduate or Postgraduate Degree is preferred.
2. In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, including drug development and commercialization processes.
3. Significant pharmaceutical customer-facing experience, preferably in both global and country-level positions (e.g., marketing, sales, medical, access, and/or customer-facing roles with accountability for delivering).
4. Significant experience in leading teams. Demonstrates ability to create and maintain a supportive, diverse, and entrepreneurial team environment that fosters growth and development.
5. Ability to build networks with different functions and establish strong collaboration and partnerships.
6. Demonstrates conceptual problem-solving skills, identifying risks/dependencies/impediments, and coordinating resources and handling multiple priorities required.
7. Advanced change management skills – ability to implement change even in the face of opposition.
