General Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager
We are recruiting a General Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager to strengthen our Finance department in Neuchâtel.
This role involves managing, coordinating, and overseeing all general accounting and financial activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting. The successful candidate will ensure IFRS and local GAAP compliance.
Accountabilities
In this position, you will lead the General Ledger team and oversee the monthly closing processes for two international entities. You will work closely with the Accounts Payable and Budget Controlling & Reporting teams to ensure a cohesive and efficient financial operation.
You will be responsible for accurate and timely management of financial records while driving process and system improvements to support the company's objectives.
You will mentor, train, and develop the General Ledger team in alignment with the vision of the Finance & Administration department and the company's overall objectives.
You will implement and maintain a continuous assessment of the financial close process and internal controls. This includes upgrading systems, local policies, and procedures as needed.
You will manage the month-end closing process, ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data. You will maintain the integrity of financial information and the general ledger, covering areas such as fixed assets, reserves, payroll accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other critical accounts.
You will prepare and review annual financial statements, including footnotes and disclosures. You will ensure compliance with local GAAP standards and act as the primary contact for external financial audits.
You will ensure proper bookings, balances, and reconciliations of bank accounts. You will manage third-party customer accounts, including ageing reports and credit collections.
You will coordinate and ensure the proper filing of tax and statutory returns in collaboration with tax advisors.
Profile
To be successful in this role, you will need a university degree in Economics or equivalent studies. You should have 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a Big 4 accounting firm.
You should have strong knowledge of accounting principles (local GAAP and IFRS) and internal procedures. You should be proficient in SAP and Excel, and familiarity with Power BI is an added advantage.
You should have leadership skills necessary to guide an accounting team. You should be able to build strong relationships with your team and stakeholders.
You should be fluent in both French and English, and knowledge of Italian is a useful asset.
