Context & Mission
Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination (MSF Charter).
The GIS Centre builds on the existing service team, maximizing past investments, maintaining continuity of service, and fostering the GIS network within the humanitarian community. The GIS Centre is coordinated out of Geneva and organized as a network of internal and external partners.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Conduct the policy of the GIS Centre: contribute to the definition and implement the policy, manage the budget, and manage internal, partnered, and external teams.
* Manage and lead the GIS products stream, oversee the delivery of GIS products (e.g., maps, apps) on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
* Accountable for product development, maintenance, management, functional and technical testing.
* Manage GIS products, platform and infrastructure (development, maintenance, testing).
* Provide technical support and manage providers.
Your Profile
Education
* Engineer or master's degree in computer science, information systems, geomatics or related field.
* Post-graduate diploma / certificate in geomatics.
Experience
* 5 to 10 years of work experience in IT or geomatics.
* 5 years of work experience as project manager.
* Experience in GIS systems deployment with a strong architecture component.
* Experience in data management, software development, and integration.
* Experience in an international environment.
* Experience in an NGO and/or humanitarian organization is a strong asset.
Languages
* Fluency in English and French (oral and written) is required.
Terms of Employment
* Full-time position 100% (40h/week).
* Open-ended contract.
* Gross annual salary from CHF 119'964.- to CHF 134'604.-.
* Paid vacation: 25 days per year, prorate temporis, plus Swiss public holidays.
* Pension plan: pension contribution covered 3/4 by MSF, 1/4 by staff member.
* Relocation package if moving from a different country to Switzerland.
