The Engineering Manager, as a part of the leadership team, is responsible for quality and oversight over the ECU team. The ECU Engineering Manager must possess sufficient technical knowledge of their programs to identify problems, provide guidance to staff, and ensure the work product is completed on time and budget and fulfills requirements. Required to lead improvement initiatives proactively. Primary Responsibilities Supervise and develop a team of 8-12 engineers, designers, and/or technicians. HVAC/ECU background, including Heating/Cooling load calculations. Prove refrigeration system design, component selection, etc. Demonstration knowledge of pending changes in refrigerants and impact to legacy equipment (military and commercial) and new equipment designs. Complies with Engineering Playbook and works to optimize its content. Manages budgets, costs, and schedule inputs for design assignments, participates in technical reviews. Manage new product development, production support changes (ECR/ECOs), and team priorities. Support proposals, technical write-ups, and provide quotes to Sales and BD. Demonstrate understanding of applicable MIL and commercial standards essential for equipment design and compliance. Hands-on building, fitting, and testing prototypes. Check drawings and designs to ensure compliance with design specifications. Adhere and train to company revision control practices and ISO processes. Interpret specific system and product design requirements which ensure conformance to functional, customer, and operations/manufacturing criteria. Interface internally with all facility associates, management, and staff. Interface externally with customers and/or vendors for furnishing, obtaining, and/or clarifying information. Adheres to all quality and safety standards. Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned. Provide engineering program/project technical support to both internal and external customers. Required Experience: Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. We will consider candidates with no degree and extensive experience. Supervision of Engineering team consisting of designers and engineers. Solid Works, Solid Works Electrical, or Auto CAD experience. Minimum of 5 years of systems engineering - concept through production release. Experience with CAD Design/Modeling utilizing Solid Works & Solid Works Electrical. Apply technical principles/techniques from established practices, as well as functional knowledge/understanding of mechanical engineering processes, techniques, and practices to quickly/accurately perceive the fit, form, function, and manufacturability of design. SAP experience a plus.
