For our client, a family office in the center of Geneva, we are currently looking for a risk & compliance officer (part-time role).
Job Description
* Risk Management:
o Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework.
o Identify, assess, and monitor risks across the family office's operations, including financial, operational, legal, and reputational risks.
o Conduct regular risk assessments and stress testing to ensure that risk exposure is in line with the office's risk appetite.
o Prepare risk reports and present findings to the executive team and family members.
o Collaborate with investment, legal, and accounting teams to assess risks related to new investments or business activities.
* Compliance Oversight:
o Develop and maintain a compliance framework aligned with Swiss and international regulations (AML, KYC, FATCA, GDPR, etc.).
o Monitor and ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations, including tax regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), and anti-bribery legislation.
o Perform regular audits and reviews of the family office's activities to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory obligations.
o Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and manage relationships with external auditors and regulators.
o Train and educate the team on compliance standards and ethical behavior.
* Policy Development and Implementation:
o Draft, implement, and review policies and procedures that promote ethical business conduct and minimize risk exposure.
o Ensure all internal documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory changes.
o Maintain records of compliance activities and reporting to the relevant authorities when required.
* Advisory Role:
o Provide guidance and support to senior management on compliance and risk-related issues.
o Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry trends that may affect the family office.
o Collaborate with other departments to support risk-based decision-making and ensure compliance is integrated across the family office.
The Successful Applicant
* Experience:
o +7 years of experience in risk management AND compliance, or audit, ideally within a financial institution or family office.
o Strong understanding of Swiss regulations and international compliance standards (AML, KYC, GDPR, etc.).
* Skills and Competencies:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios.
* Excellent knowledge of compliance frameworks and risk management principles.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders.
* High attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Fluency in English; other languages are an asset.
