The FWT Qualifier and Junior Communication Coordinator plays a vital role in bridging the gap between the company's Communication team and Sports Development team. This individual will assist the Sports Development team with seasonal communication and manage social media to engage and entertain the Junior and Qualifier communities.
What is the FWT?
The Freeride World Tour team consists of 15-20 passionate staff members based near Lausanne, Switzerland. They work year-round to organize the five-stop Freeride World Tour circuit, including the well-known Xtreme Verbier event. The team also coordinates over 90 Qualifier events and Junior events worldwide and oversees a global community of licensed riders.
This comes with a lot of work and travel, but it also means spending time at events with the Freeride World Tour Family. This unique community includes people from diverse backgrounds, including external staff, riders, and partners. Working with FWT offers a life-changing experience that fosters personal and professional growth through interactions with inspiring individuals.
The work environment is dynamic and sometimes disorganized, encouraging proactivity and the sharing of new ideas regardless of position or background. The focus is on the big picture, where everyone plays a crucial role. Telework and flexible work arrangements are promoted, but physical teamwork is emphasized for success.
About the Team
The Communication team produces content and tells compelling stories about competitions and riders. The Sports Development team organizes Challenger, Qualifier, and Junior events, which represent the pyramid of the sport. These events serve as a direct link between the organization and the riders, requiring interaction with various stakeholders.
Rigor is necessary for smooth operation throughout the season. However, the experience is richer due to continuous fieldwork throughout the winter. If you're looking for a work environment where your role can make an impact, take responsibility for projects, continuously learn, meet diverse people, and be surrounded by passionate individuals who enjoy celebrating, then you're in the right place.
Your Responsibilities
The ideal candidate should possess extensive skills and experiences in social media management, focusing on handling the FWT Qualifier and FWT Junior communities. Responsibilities include scheduling, publishing, and monitoring social media posts across multiple platforms, sourcing content from athletes, partners, and event organizers, and coordinating social media during events.
Apart from social media, the Communication Coordinator is responsible for the newsletter, web news creation, and visual productions. This includes gathering, editing, and publishing relevant content, ensuring the brand voice and messaging align with the company's overall message.
Finally, this position requires the ability to deliver quickly, work comfortably in a stressful environment, and collaborate with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
A typical day in the life of the Communication Coordinator during events involves:
* Scheduling and publishing social media posts
* Coordinating social media coverage during events
* Monitoring social media engagement and responding to comments
* Gathering and publishing content from athletes, partners, and event organizers
