Job description:
On behalf of our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, we are looking for a Snowflake Engineer to contribute to the optimization of clinical trial data processing and help drive data innovation in the healthcare sector.
Location: Basel
Contract Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months' with possible extension
Start Date: ASAP (latest start: 01/06/2025)
Workload: 100%
Responsibilities:
* Design and implement scalable and efficient data storage and data processing solutions within Snowflake.
* Write, optimize, and troubleshoot tables, views, functions, and SQL queries.
* Automate data workflows and improve data quality by enabling automatic discrepancy detection in clinical trial data.
* Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data-driven business objectives.
* Support the integration of Snowflake with additional platforms such as ServiceNow.
* Contribute to the development of software prototypes used by over 1000 Roche/Genentech data scientists.
Competences:
Education:
* Completed degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
* 1-2 years of hands-on experience working with Snowflake's cloud data platform.
* Experience with SQL for querying and managing databases.
* Proficiency in Python (or Java, C++, or Scala).
* Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and architecture.
* Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes.
* Performance tuning experience.
* Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS.
Skills:
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively within international teams.
* Fluent English (written and spoken).
