You will join the Property Treaty Underwriting team as one of eleven underwriters and actuaries responsible for a book of European property treaty business with focus on France. The team takes pride in a collaborative and flexible work mode that is based on trust, dedication and mutual support. Once onboarded, you will quickly take over account responsibility with the support of your New Re colleagues. This comprises of technical pricing and contract analysis as well as internal and external stakeholder management.
Your responsibilities
Underwriting of French and European property treaty reinsurance business with main tasks being:
* Pricing, modelling and risk assessment of new or existing treaty programs
* Negotiating reinsurance transactions including contract documentation and wording
* Managing client and broker relationships and participate in origination activities to develop new business
* Contribute to developing and defining market and client strategies
* Managing necessary information exchange with internal stakeholders such as Actuaries, Claims, Accounting and Risk Management
* Actively participating in New Re specific and/or Group projects
Your profile
- Qualification: University degree in a quantitative subject like Natural Science, Economics, Business or equivalent
- Experience:
- up to 5 years of relevant professional work experience e.g. from the reinsurance/insurance sector
- Knowledge on the French property market a strong plus
* Skills: “Allrounder” with strong analytical skills, team player and good communications skills, proactive and self-going, ability to work in an international environment
* Knowledge: IT literate and proficient user of Microsoft Office (especially Excel), know-how about natural hazards and/or Natural Catastrophe Modelling (tools) would be a plus
* Language: Excellent command of English and French, good knowledge of German considered a strong plus
* Willingness to travel in Europe (5-10% of time)
