Key responsibilities
* Help senior colleagues manage large and important customer relationships, and occasionally manage smaller client relationships.
* Take a lead in the administration of the entire client relationship, including the onboarding of new clients and products, ensuring the appropriate compliance and regulatory requirements are met (“Know Your Customer”).
* Take an active role in identifying and following up on cross-buy opportunities.
* Work closely with product specialists to develop tailor-made solutions that closely fit clients’ needs.
* Conduct (market and client) research and keep up to date with relevant market updates and trends to advance the sector knowledge of the entire team, and to create a differentiating client experience.
* Drive forward the relevant commercial and credit approval processes, and ensure timely execution of client transactions and opportunities.
* Actively support the team in prospecting and onboarding new clients.
* Contribute to stakeholder engagement by identifying relevant stakeholders and finding out their needs/concerns and proposing adequate solutions.
* Take part and contribute to internal projects and strategic initiatives.
* Take ownership of risk management and follow the appropriate procedures to assess and mitigate financial risk and non-financial risk while operating simple standardized business processes, to protect the organization from undue risks.
What are we looking for?
* Approx. 1 to 3 years’ experience in the financial sector, preferably in a role within a commercial bank.
* Postgraduate (Master’s degree) preferably in Economics or Finance.
* Self-starter with a can-do attitude that can work with a high degree of autonomy and is keen to take on responsibility.
* Customer-focused approach, understands customers’ needs and maintains effective customer and stakeholder relationships.
* Can manage complexity and work under tight timelines.
* Be able to negotiate effectively displaying well-developed influencing skills.
* A balanced commercial vs. risk mindset.
* Highly collaborative personality, strong team player, and ability to communicate effectively with clients, ING teams, and senior management.
* International mindset.
* Fluent in English, with German or French being a plus.
