Our mission is to address major societal challenges through sustainable solutions. To achieve this, we engage in both fundamental and applied research. Additionally, we are committed to training the next generation of scientists and engineers.
Nanodiffraction Group PhD Student
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our Nanodiffraction Group. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a novel imaging technique, low-energy electron holography, which will enable atomic-resolution imaging of 2D crystals and nanocrystalline samples.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Participate in the design and construction of a coherent low-energy electron microscope.
* Develop expertise in sample preparation and hologram recording.
* Work on numerical reconstruction of sample structures.
* Present research findings at conferences and publish papers in reputable scientific journals.
What We Are Looking For
* MSc in Physics or Engineering.
* Strong foundation in solid-state physics, coherent optics, and theoretical physics (quantum mechanics, QED).
* Experience in experimental physics is highly desirable.
* Programming skills in languages like Matlab and Python are an asset, particularly if combined with experience in electron microscopy and light optical imaging.
