Engine Architect - Combustion Engines Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Engine Architect to join our team at Liebherr Machines Bulle SA. As a key member of our combustion engine development team, you will be responsible for defining the architecture of new engine projects and monitoring engine trends.
Responsibilities:
* Define engine architecture for new projects and stay up-to-date on industry trends.
* Solve complex technical issues by coordinating design, simulation, and testing activities.
* Design and optimize high-complexity engine components.
* Create 2D and 3D designs using CAD systems and revise 2D drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
* Develop 2D and 3D visualizations to clarify technical content and create technical presentations.
* Provide technical reporting to top management on specific topics.
* Collaborate with component suppliers to understand technical properties and engage in co-design activities.
* Contribute to Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) initiatives.
* Coordinate design resources and ensure quality deliverables while collaborating with various departments within the project environment.
Requirements:
* Mechanical engineering degree from an accredited institution.
* A minimum of 10 years of experience in combustion engine design.
* Proficiency in English, with French as a secondary language; German is an asset.
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office and good understanding of PTC Creo, ERP Systems, and PLM Albatros.
* Demonstrated skills in independence, reliability, teamwork, commitment, flexibility, and effective communication.
