Job Summary:
We are expanding the Legal Asset team as part of Syz Capital's strategic business plan. We seek a Vice President to strengthen the deal team and further develop this business line.
The team is led by a Managing Partner, consisting of a dual-qualified lawyer, interns, and two senior advisors.
This new position will focus on the firm's Legal Assets strategies (Litigation Funding and Law Firm Lending). It involves sourcing, underwriting, and executing investment opportunities, monitoring existing portfolios, and growing the legal asset business over time.
The position requires strong analytical and legal skills, portfolio management, and commercial expertise, working closely with partners and the deal team to develop the franchise.
Syz Capital is actively investing in single cases, portfolios, secondary, and credit transactions across the legal finance spectrum.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze and underwrite investment opportunities for the deal team, presenting relevant opportunities to the Investment Committee.
* Monitor existing investments and improve monitoring and reporting tools.
* Support the firm's partners in developing the legal asset business line within Syz Capital.
* Contribute to investment origination efforts across legal assets strategies.
* Provide regular reports on legal asset strategies to internal stakeholders, investors, and regulators.
Your Profile
Qualifications:
* Investment experience in litigation funding or law firm lending, preferably with a track record in similar roles.
* Master's degree in Economics or Law from a reputable university.
* Modeling skills.
Professional Experience:
* Investment experience at a Litigation Funder or Special Situations investor.
* Relevant working experience in Switzerland or other European jurisdictions.
* Experience in private credit or specialty finance is desirable.
* Experience advising corporates in high-value litigation, arbitration, or credit transactions is an advantage.
Skills:
* Ability to understand complex legal principles and apply them accordingly.

Language Skills:
* Fluent in English.

The role is based in Switzerland. Applicants must be eligible to obtain a B residence permit.
