Purpose of the Job:
To support the business strategy and operations by providing proactive, professional, and solution-oriented legal support. Act as a trusted business partner to manage legal risks, enhance compliance, and ensure the business operates within applicable laws and regulations. Foster awareness among employees regarding compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Support:
Deliver cost-effective and efficient legal services to support business units.
Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on contracts and related documents to reflect the business's commercial position while mitigating risks.
Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Advisory Role:
Provide legal advice on commercial strategies, documents, and disputes to minimize risks and legal exposure.
Support the development and execution of strategic business goals through tailored legal guidance.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Identify and manage legal risks associated with business operations.
Promote and maintain compliance with local and international laws.
Provide employee training to enhance legal and compliance awareness.
Corporate Governance:
Oversee corporate housekeeping activities to maintain an accurate overview of the corporate structure and legal entity status.
Ensure appropriate documentation and compliance for all corporate entities.
Stay updated on changes in legislation, regulations, and case law relevant to the organization's business.
Propose and implement improvements to legal processes and policies.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Partner with internal stakeholders, including commercial teams, finance, and human resources, to align legal strategies with business objectives.
Collaborate with external legal counsel as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree in Law or equivalent.
Experience: Proven experience as a legal counsel, preferably in a corporate or commercial legal environment.
Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
Ability to identify and manage legal risks effectively.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
In-depth understanding of corporate, commercial, and compliance laws.
Familiarity with the regulatory environment affecting the industry.
