Job Description
1. Maintain and improve power market fundamental stack model across European markets.
2. Monitor model inputs and outputs, track model performance, and propose improvements.
3. Support the power desk with regular short to mid-term fundamental forecasting and analysis.
4. Follow market developments and analyze correlations between energy complex building blocks - CO2 emission, coal, gas, and power prices.
5. Propose profitable Clear Spark Spread (CSS) and Clear Dark Spread (CDS) trading opportunities.
6. Based on research and statistical analysis, prepare fundamental scenarios.
7. Continuously improve understanding of fundamental power market dynamics (supply/demand).
8. Closely cooperate with traders, gas analysts, meteorologist, data engineers and developers
Qualifications
9. A minimum of 5 years of experience as Power Analyst or Cross-Commodity Analyst with strong Power markets focus in energy trading/commodities sector.
10. Power market fundamental stack modeling experience
11. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics;
12. Strong research, analytical, and quantitative skills (econometric and statistical modeling)
13. Excellent presentation and communication skills
14. Coding skills in Python and SQL are an advantage.
15. Ability to explain and communicate complex concepts, translate market analyses into propositions/strategies and to communicate them clearly.
