About the role:
The Senior Manager, CEO Corporate Affairs will contribute to a variety of projects and tasks across the CEO Corporate Affairs and Chief of Staff team, serving as the “connective tissue” that enables flawless execution and outcomes. They will help manage and execute Corporate Affairs strategies that enhance the CEO's reputation, promote Novartis’ vision and purpose, and effectively engage both internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership. This role involves creating high-impact content and ensuring consistency and quality across all communication channels. Additionally, the Senior Manager will help lead strategic initiatives, such as Catalyst.
They will also play a crucial role in coordinating activities, managing administrative tasks, and providing logistical support to enable the efficient and effective execution of strategies by the Director of CEO Corporate Affairs and the Chief of Staff for Corporate Affairs.
Key Responsibilities:
CEO strategy execution support
* Support the Director, CEO Corporate Affairs with ongoing projects and daily tasks, including creating briefings to prepare the CEO for interviews and engagements and more.
* Collaborate with the Director of CEO Corporate Affairs to develop and execute creative digital content and content strategies that differentiate Novartis and the CEO, including community management.
* Ensure CEO channels meet all governance and compliance processes, as well as manage internal content reviews and the finalization and publishing of content, while also leading analytics and insights to measure performance and inform changes to approach.
Novartis top leadership engagement (Catalyst)
* With oversight of the Director, CEO Corporate Affairs, help develop and execute a strategy to engage Catalysts throughout the year, with the objectives of enabling corporate strategy delivery and leadership development. Design the strategy with a holistic audience experience and journey in mind.
* Partner with P&O/Leadership Development and Strategy & Growth to build strong partnership in creating the Catalyst strategy, executing engagements, creating content, and more.
* Identify and collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts who will share their perspectives with Catalysts when appropriate.
* Design and execute a measurement approach that informs executional choices and changes approaches to maximize impact.
Measurement and insights
* Support execution of a data and benchmarking program for the Chief of Staff Corporate Affairs team. Manage the archive and repository of data, connect and inform team members with relevant data and derived themes.
* Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues to inform communication strategies and provide insights to the Director of CEO Corporate Affairs and Chief of Staff of Corporate Affairs.
Project Management
* Help enable collaboration across the Chief of Staff team, in partnership with the Chief of Staff, including planning team meeting cadence, offsites, and more, as well as support Chief of Staff with ad hoc strategic projects.
Essential Requirements:
* Fluent English and masterful command of language required, other languages beneficial, as well as at least a few years of experience in digital content strategy experience (a must).
* Communications or Marketing: A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field provides a solid foundation in understanding communication principles, messaging strategies, and audience engagement techniques.
* Social Media Management: Strong knowledge and experience in managing social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) are essential. This includes understanding platform-specific features, algorithms, best practices, and trends.
* Content Creation and Copywriting: Proficiency in creating high-quality, engaging content for social media, including writing compelling copy, crafting visual content (images, videos, infographics), and optimizing content for various platforms and audiences.
* Digital Marketing and Analytics: Familiarity with digital marketing concepts and tools, such as social media management platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer), analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media analytics), and A/B testing methodologies.
* Brand Management and Messaging: Experience in brand management, including maintaining brand consistency across different communication channels, developing messaging strategies, and aligning content with brand values and voice.
* Public Relations and Reputation Management: Understanding of public relations principles, crisis communication strategies, and reputation management techniques to effectively manage the CEO's presence and respond to feedback or inquiries.
* Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and solve complex problems related to traditional and social media content creation, audience engagement, and brand positioning.
* Adaptability and Creativity: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, emerging trends, and evolving social media landscapes, combined with creativity to innovate and experiment with new content formats and engagement strategies.
* Tech Savvy and Continuous Learning: Comfort with technology, willingness to learn new tools and techniques, and a proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends, platform updates, and best practices in social media marketing.
