About the Role
We are currently looking for a Senior Tax Manager, Global Sourcing & Cocoa (GS&C) to play a key role in Barry Callebaut’s Group Tax function. Reporting to the Group Tax Manager, this role supports in advising on tax strategies, structures and impact of business undertakings for the GS&C business, with a focus on African countries. This role assists in the identification and transparent management of tax opportunities as well as risk and oversees the tax compliance of GS&C group entities. This role readily interacts with various internal stakeholders and promotes cross-functional teamwork to engage the requisite resources and plays a supporting role in maintaining relationships with external stakeholders such as tax authorities and tax advisors.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Being the tax business partner in providing advice/assistance to various internal stakeholders on relevant tax topics, including international taxes, transfer pricing and indirect taxes
2. Assisting in defining regional tax strategies/policies and executing tax efficient structures with respect to new as well as existing business operations
3. Managing and coordinating key tax audits, as well as dispute resolutions, including negotiations with tax authorities on direct and indirect tax issues
4. Completing monthly tax reporting for the GS&C group entities, including ensuring adherence to Group transfer pricing policies and income tax reporting
5. Collaborating with the Accounting Centre of Expertise/ local finance teams to support and provide guidance on tax accounting and compliance
6. Reviewing and updating quarterly uncertain tax positions/IFRIC 23
7. Overseeing tax compliance activities for group entities, including transfer pricing documentation and tax returns
8. Proactively researching and analyzing key tax law changes that may have implications for the business in the region
About You
9. Master/ Bachelor in Finance, Accountancy or equivalent
10. Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in a Tax function in a multinational company (preferably in B2B/ food industries) or Big 4 Accounting firm
11. Sound knowledge and experience of international taxation and indirect taxes
12. Experience in tax accounting and compliance is preferred
13. Excellent communication skills with an ability to clearly communicate complex tax issues
14. A team player and who is also capable of working independently when required with a strong sense of discipline and responsibility
15. Fluent in English and French, both written and verbal
