Job Title: Regional Solutions Engineering Manager
About the Role
The successful candidate will lead and mentor Solutions Engineers in the EMEA and APJ regions, driving business growth through strategic collaboration with Sales and Solutions Engineering management.
Main Responsibilities
* Mentor and lead a team of Solutions Engineers to achieve business objectives
* Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Engineering management to determine staffing levels, establish job requisitions, and lead interview teams to fill open positions
* Assess the SE team's go-to-market readiness, identify gaps, and develop plans to ensure the team is prepared to support annualized business goals
* Coach Solutions Engineers on call approaches and business conversations
* Work with sales leadership to identify, qualify, and prioritize coverage for business opportunities, participating in opportunity review meetings to secure technical success
* Resolve product problems affecting customer satisfaction through collaboration with sales, marketing, product management, customer solutions, and engineering
* Ensure alignment between customer needs, product positioning, and features by coordinating with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management
* Travel up to 50% as needed
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
* Technical background in software engineering or DevOps
* 10+ years of experience as a pre-sales engineer at an enterprise technology company or similar role (e.g., professional services, solutions architect, systems engineering team)
* Proven experience managing presales engineering functions (ideally quota-carrying)
* Experience promoting infrastructure software, databases, analytics tools, or applications software, and exceeding business goals
* Experience working with large, complex commercial agreements and collaborating with procurement, legal, and business teams
* Ability to present to diverse audiences, engage with C-level executives, and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT space
* Ability to inspire/grow teams in sales environments and influence cross-functional teams
* Proficiency in CRM systems and sales analytics tools
