Job Description:
We are looking for a Human Factors Specialist (m/f) for our Commercial Aircraft business to join our Flight Operations Customer Support Organisation based in Toulouse, France.
The Human Factors mission is to contribute to safety and customer’s operations efficiency by ensuring that Airbus considers human performance and limitations in its research, development, certification, production, and customer support activities. Minimising human operator workload and errors, enabling effective normal and abnormal situation responses, and enhancing task performance are part of this mission.
The Flight Operations Customer Support Organisation is responsible for designing and assessing the philosophy of usage of our aircraft, the technical documentation for flight and cabin crews, the Electronic Flight Bag for pilots, and defining training requirements to support Airlines and Aircraft Training Organisations.

You will be part of the Flight Operations and Training Policy department in Customer Service. You will report to the head of the Flight Operations and Training Policy department and work in close functional coordination with the human factors expert of this department.
In this frame, we are looking for a person with expertise in Human-Systems integration and aircraft knowledge to incorporate Human Factors requirements and human characteristics in flight operations assumptions for all Airbus aircraft programs.
Your role will be to define, assess, and validate what Airbus can reasonably expect from human operators in terms of tasks and performance.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
You will:
1. Contribute to the analysis of in-service events from the HF perspective in compliance with the internal Airbus standard
2. Collect and categorise human errors
3. Analyse human-related events
4. Contribute to the report of analysis of events and follow-up
5. Monitor trends
6. Select and apply human factors methods for designing and assessing products or procedures
7. Review and assess Human Machine Interface (e.g., Electronic Flight Bag) and define Human System Interaction guidelines
8. Contribute to innovation
9. Increase HF knowledge of Airbus teams
You will foster efficient cooperation with the Airbus HF experts network, technical documentation, the linguistic domain, and safety representatives of customer service and engineering.
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation, and sustainable growth.
Educational Qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Cognitive Psychology/Ergonomics, and Human knowledge and human factors method.
Academic or professional background in physiology and anthropometrics is welcomed (Accessibility, reachability, hypoxia/anoxia, medical incapacitation, etc.).
Technical knowledge:
Knowledge of human capabilities and limitations in front of complex and high-risk systems.
Knowledge of pilot’s tasks and aircraft operations in normal and abnormal conditions.
Knowledge of Airbus aircraft.
Work experience of 5 years as Human Factors specialist in a design office, in customer support, or in an airline.
Processes in Aircraft Design, methods, and practices in human factors evaluations and Flight operations activities.
Knowledge of standards in the field of human factors & flight crew tasks (certification, norms, etc.).
