Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly qualified Technical Auditor to join our Halal auditing team.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform audits of halal food, pharma, and cosmetic facilities, supply chains, and related processes to ensure compliance with relevant halal and quality standards (e.g., OIC/SMIIC, GSO, SJPH, etc.).
2. Evaluate documentation, procedures, and practices to verify adherence to halal certification requirements.
3. Assess the effectiveness of halal management systems (HMS) and identify areas for improvement.
4. Prepare detailed audit reports, including non-conformities, observations, and recommendations for corrective actions.
5. Communicate audit findings to clients and provide guidance on achieving and maintaining compliance.
6. Offer technical support and advice to clients on implementing and improving halal systems.
7. Verify that corrective actions have been implemented effectively to address non-conformities.
8. Ensure that certified organizations maintain ongoing compliance with applicable standards.
9. Participate in training and professional development to maintain auditing competence.
10. Work closely with certification body teams, including other auditors, technical managers, and certification decision-makers.
11. Support the development and improvement of audit protocols and certification processes.
12. Travel to client sites, which may include domestic and international locations, to conduct on-site audits.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, or a related field.
2. Additional certifications in halal auditing (e.g., lead auditor, FSSC 22000, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
3. Prior experience as a halal and/or food quality auditor or in implementing halal and/or food safety management systems.
4. In-depth understanding of halal requirements.
5. Knowledge of halal and food safety standards (e.g., GSO, OIC/SMIIC, ISO 22000, HACCP, BRC, FSSC 22000, etc.).
6. Familiarity with halal production processes, supply chain management, and regulatory requirements.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
9. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
10. Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
11. Ethical and impartial, with a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the certification process.
12. Strong organizational and time management skills.
13. Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
14. Frequent travel to client sites, including remote or rural locations.
15. Flexible working hours to accommodate audit schedules and client needs.
This role is critical in ensuring that food, pharma, and cosmetic businesses meet the highest standards of halal, safety, and quality, thereby protecting consumer health and maintaining trust in the halal supply chain.
