Logistic Director
Location : Rolle, Switzerland
This role focuses on managing the supply chain and logistics of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products across global manufacturing locations, ensuring efficient delivery to customers. You'll also optimize product supply for improved business profitability.
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the COO of End-to-End Operations & Supply Chain for EMEA Animal Nutrition and Pet Solutions, you'll collaborate with plant directors, operations teams, business managers, and the Customer Service & S&OP EMEA Director.
As the Director of Logistics, your responsibilities include overseeing inbound/outbound inventory, 20+ warehousing operations, 3PL partnerships, transportation logistics, and co-manufacturer management. You'll ensure smooth flows, operational excellence, and cost optimization while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Tasks:
1. Develop and implement inventory control strategies, collaborating with procurement and production teams to optimize stock levels and cash flow.
2. Manage co-manufacturers and 3PL partnerships, ensuring secure and cost-effective supply chains.
3. Oversee warehouse operations, implementing best practices for layout, organization, and safety.
4. Build and manage relationships with 3PL providers, optimizing transportation routes and costs.
5. Develop transportation strategies for timely product delivery while minimizing costs.
6. Assess make-or-buy strategies and recommend production solutions that meet quality standards.
7. Collaborate with demand and supply planning teams to ensure customer service and risk management.
8. Define import/export processes for cost-effective and timely product supply.
9. Work with quality and plant managers to minimize waste and obsolescence.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree; MBA or International Commerce background is advantageous.
Minimum 15 years in logistics with 10 years in similar roles.
Experience in logistics consulting.
Proficiency in English and French, Spanish is a plus.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proven track record in logistics, transportation, and inventory management.
Proficient in Office, ERP, MRP, and APS systems.
