We are looking for experienced and motivated Data Governance Expert to join our lively international team and work on projects for Europe's leading brands!
The Data Governance Expert will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the data governance framework to ensure compliance with FINMA Circular 2023/01. This role requires a deep understanding of data governance principles, regulatory requirements, and best practices in data management, particularly in the context of critical data management. The expert will work within the RCA service but closely with various departments, including IT, Risk Management, Compliance Management, DQ&M, Business Units, Data Owners, and Data Stewards to ensure the organization’s data governance practices meet regulatory standards and support strategic objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with FINMA Circular 2023/01 by developing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and controls. Continuously monitor and evaluate the organization’s data governance practices to ensure alignment with FINMA requirements and other relevant regulations (e.g., LPD, GDPR).
* Data Governance Framework: Design and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that includes data classification, data ownership, data stewardship, and data quality management. Develop and maintain the critical data inventory, ensuring all critical data is identified, classified, and managed accurately according to regulatory standards.
* Data Strategy: Collaborate with the Data Governance Board and the Data Office to define and implement the organization’s data strategy, focusing on critical data management. Promote the integration of data governance practices into the organization’s overall business strategy.
* Risk Management: Support Risk Management colleagues in risk assessments to identify potential data-related risks, particularly in the areas of availability, integrity, and confidentiality of critical data. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks, ensuring data management practices align with the organization’s risk appetite.
* Stakeholder Collaboration and Engagement: Work closely with IT, Compliance, Risk Management, and Business Units to ensure effective implementation of data governance practices across the organization. Act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to FINMA Circular 2023/01 and critical data management.
* Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of data governance policies, procedures, and controls. Prepare regular reports for management and regulatory authorities on the status of data governance practices and compliance with FINMA Circular 2023/01.
What We Are Looking For:
* Experience of at least 5+ years in Bank/Financial institution with a similar role.
* Previous experience in master data unification project.
* Knowledge of data management regulation according to Swiss or European Bank institutions.
* Project management experience in managing data management projects.
* Experience as Business Analyst in data management requirement.
* Data Model experience represents a plus.
* English B1 minimum; Italian mandatory.
