Job Description Support commodity traders and merchandisers in developing financing solutions for the company's commercial activities (customers and/or suppliers) in close coordination with other functions (Credit, Legal, Execution, Compliance, Accounting).
Develop and implement risk mitigants to minimize potential financial loss, such as banking instruments (LCs /avalized drafts / guarantees / escrow account), corporate instruments (corporate guarantees / promissory notes / pledge of shares / etc.), inventory instrument mitigants (SMA, pledges, liens, etc.).
Distribute the credit/performance risk either to the insurance market (single buyer credit insurance / portfolio credit insurance policy), to the banking market or to other types of investors (without recourse discounting / prepayment, on an individual or portfolio basis).
Negotiate legal documentation and execute transactions for both originated and distributed risks.
Maintain an active dialogue with the company's bankers to develop, expand and consolidate the banking network in the region.
Implement and develop funding programs meant to optimize the company's working capital usage and access to liquidity, all at a competitive cost of funds (off balance sheet factoring/securitization program, supply chain finance, etc.).
Be a back-up of the trade finance vanilla team: Address needs from platforms (Business Units) and find Banking capacity at best financial conditions for products such as: LC / SBLCs / Bank Guarantees / Bid-Perf Bonds, Import and Export
Export avalized draft discounting
Support platforms and credit teams in the resolution of operational issues.
Experience Strong educational background in finance.
3-5 years experience in the coverage commodity department of a bank or in the structured finance department of a commodity trading company.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills: the candidate will need to interact with various departments within the company (legal, operations, trading teams, credit department, compliance, IT, accounting, in EMEA but not only).
Logical, analytical, and attention to detail: the candidate will be exposed to many transactions.
Quick learner: the candidate must be able to work independently.
An energetic and highly motivated self-starter.
Fluent in English and possibly another language (French, Spanish, ...).
