Job Title: Biotechnologist for Mammalian Cell Culture

We are currently seeking Manufacturing Specialists for our Ibex-facility in Visp. In this role, you will be responsible for executing operational activities of assigned manufacturing in specific areas (Upstream, Downstream or Buffer Media and Production Support processing) for a large scale 6x20kL Scale Drug Substance Mammalian facility.
Key Accountabilities and Duties
* Planning and Execution: Responsible for the planning, execution, and documentation of manufacturing campaigns in the area of mammalian cell culture.
* Leadership: Leads multi-disciplinary project teams as Functional Lead for all manufacturing aspects of assigned products.
* SHE and EM Analysis: Responsible for preparing and executing SHE, EM, operation, and cleaning risk analysis for the assigned products and implementing defined measures.
* Production Documentation: Establishes timely and qualitative production documentation specific to the assigned production area.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensures state-of-the-art regulatory requirements are implemented in corresponding assets and products.
* Manufacturing Activities: Performs manufacturing activities according to cGMP guidelines, ensuring batch execution, evaluating test results, resolving issues, troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, and making recommendations for resolution.
* Capital Investment Projects: Works as a production expert in capital investment projects for building and commissioning of the manufacturing units.
* GMP Implementation: Responsible for implementing relevant GMP documents for the respective area.
* Training and Development: Trains operators for the manufacturing of assigned products.
* Support and Representation: Supports Plant Manager and Head Manufacturing Staff in training and planning tasks, represents Lonza Manufacturing unit during customer audits and visits.
* Innovation and Improvement: Executes innovation and improvement projects comprising general manufacturing aspects for the production plant.
* Technical Standardization: Ensures a high level of technical and process standardization within the production plant.
Qualifications and Skills Required
* Bachelor/Master Degree.
* Preferred area of study: Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.
* Broad biotechnology expertise and/or knowledge in biotechnical engineering, preferably in the area of Mammalian cell culture.
* Fluent in both German and English.
* GMP understanding.
* Strong leadership skills; very good communication skills and interaction with all kinds of interfaces within the organization.

* Structured, focused, and well-organized working attitude; open-minded for new ideas and suggestions.
