What will you do
This role is responsible for the articulation and clear differentiation of breakthrough value propositions across critical growth areas of Johnson Controls. This role supports a critical step in our global go to market efforts, repositioning deeply technical offerings into strong, customer-oriented value propositions that stand out among the competition. Working with our global product management, commercial and marketing teams, this role delivers clear verbal and infographic expressions tied to global standards and express how the offer creates customer value, how the unique features stand out in the market and what proof points substantiate the value claims. The position will support Johnson Controls teams across its global markets and offering categories and will underpin the company’s strategy and brand promise and drive sustainable brand preference & business growth.
How will you do it
1. Create breakthrough value messaging in work sessions with subject matter experts
2. Leverage customer insight to define strategic, core customer value themes that ensure value propositions are built on defined customer needs
3. Research winning messaging concepts within the competitive set, ensure proposed value propositions are differentiated and deliver fresh thinking
4. Select and develop messaging for key proof points that substantiate the value claims of offerings and deliver credibility behind the value message and position Johnson Controls uniquely in the market
5. Research critical customer keywords and embed winning search terms in the value messaging
6. Evolving draft messaging concepts with refinements based on insights, proofreading for accuracy and quality
7. Adapting technical messages and translate them into more customer centric language
8. Drive to value messaging and differentiation messaging that support the broader repositioning of the Johnson Controls brand
9. Support the development of grab & go assets tied to new value proposition messaging, from imagery to creative campaign headlines to infographics
10. Understand and research the key competitor landscape to deliver updates on key differentiation messaging
11. Support the evolution of value proposition messaging based on changing market trends and customer needs for key value propositions
What we look for
Required
12. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in messaging development or journalism
13. Strong track record in technical, B2B and sustainability content writing
14. Experience working in an international environment
15. Proven track record of working effectively in large global matrix organizations and cross functional teams
16. Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communications skills
17. Organized with a can-do attitude
Preferred
18. Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field
19. Building technology or related industry experience
