Innovator Wanted for Plastic-Free Seaweed Packaging Development

We are creating breakthrough algae-based alternatives for packaging and a variety of plastic products. By integrating biochemistry with existing machinery and infrastructure in the plastics industry, we set new standards for sustainable, mechanically functional packaging films. Your role: As a Polymer Engineer at noriware, you will play a key role in the development, optimisation and scaling of our innovative materials and production processes. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to ensure that our production processes are efficient and sustainable.
* Development and optimisation of production processes for algae-based materials.
* Implement and monitor process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
* Collaborate with the R&D team to scale up new materials from research to production.
* Build and test prototypes, evaluate performance, and refine designs based on test results.
* Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, user manuals, and maintenance guides.
* Supporting the integration of new technologies and machines into the existing infrastructure.
* Create and develop detailed 3D CAD models and generate accurate 2D drawings to support the design and construction processes, ensuring all specifications and standards are met.
Requirements:
* BSc or MSc in mechanical engineering, process engineering or a related field.
* At least 3 years of professional experience in product development and optimisation, preferably in the plastics or packaging industry.
* Sound knowledge of processing polymer materials, preferably bio-based materials.
* Experience in the processing of polysaccharides is an advantage.
* In-depth knowledge of polymer engineering and process optimisation, including typical techniques such as extrusion and compounding.
* Practical experience and a hands-on mentality in process development and commercialisation of packaging materials.
* Strong analytical skills and a solution-orientated approach.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Proactive, self-starter with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
