Laboratory Manager for Endodermal Organoid Research

Job Overview
You will work at Roche's Institute of Human Biology, an organization driving the use of human model systems in drug discovery and development. We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to support lab operations across the IHB and contribute to ongoing research projects.
In this role, you will help establish lab spaces focused on human in-vitro systems within the newly formed Endodermal Organoid Group. You will collaborate closely with Lead Scientists to ensure compliant use of lab workspaces and coordinate equipment.
Your Responsibilities
* Manage tissue processing labs and primary cell cultures, including equipment maintenance, reagent ordering, and ensuring smooth operations.
* Support daily activities in the lab and assist with training young scientists, maintaining order, and coordinating cleaning efforts.
* Train colleagues on tissue processing, organoid derivation, and culture techniques.
* Perform mycoplasma tests on organoids and cell lines.
* Ensure compliance with SHE regulations and good working practices within lab facilities.
Your Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
* Bachelor or Master degree in biology, bioengineering, or related field with 3 years of experience.
* Experience handling primary tissue samples to derive and expand organoids.
* Hands-on expertise in:
o Organoid culture and primary cell culture
o Molecular technologies, including transfections, CRISPR tools, immunohistochemistry
o Flow cytometry
* Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* iPSC, tissue-derived organoid models, and Histo-Pathology experience is an asset.
