Postdoctoral Fellow - Mechanical Engineer Superconducting Magnets
The Swiss Plasma Center's Superconductivity Group is a leading laboratory for designing, manufacturing, and testing superconducting cables and magnets for fusion applications.
We are seeking a highly motivated mechanical engineer to contribute to our team.
Your Tasks:
* Contribute to the development of the EDIPO 2 test facility.
* Design and integrate the EDIPO 2 magnet into the existing test facility.
* Coordinate R&D and construction efforts with industrial partners.
* Design magnets for tokamaks and stellarators within the EUROfusion program.
* Support PhD students.
Your Profile:
* Mechanical engineer with a PhD degree or equivalent experience.
* At least three years of experience in designing superconducting magnets and associated technologies.
* Proficiency in Finite Element Modeling.
* CAD design skills are an asset.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong documentation skills, including manuscript preparation and technical specifications.
* Proficient level of English (at least C1) is mandatory.
* Basic knowledge of German or willingness to learn.
