Accountant Position Summary
The Accountant is responsible for supporting the Senior Finance team in accomplishing the responsibilities of the accounts department, including various general accounting and administrative tasks and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities & Authorities
1. Maintain accounts payables and receivables accurately.
2. Prepare journal entries, keep balance sheets up to date, and assist with monthly account closings.
3. Perform bank reconciliations and prepare necessary material for audit purposes.
4. Ensure that accounting transactions are booked accurately in accordance with Professional Codes of Practice, Accounting Standards, and Service Level agreements.
5. Receive and verify the accuracy of invoices and book them in accounting systems.
6. Prepare and record inter-company debit and credit notes.
7. Reconcile inter-company accounts.
8. Prepare the company fixed assets register.
9. Manage supplier's payments and Accounts Payable accounts effectively.
10. Implement and ensure adherence to Accounting policies and procedures.
11. Prepare Accounts payable Reports.
12. Process on time supplier's invoices and payments.
13. Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
14. Handle Monthly payroll.
15. Provide office administration and compliance support.
16. Support the establishment of the office and workshop in Poland.
17. Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Chief Accountant and/or Regional Finance Manager.
Competency Requirements
1. Degree in Accounting/Finance. CMA certification is a plus.
2. Experience in Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable function is mandatory.
3. Minimum 5 years of experience working with reputable organizations.
4. Working knowledge of any ERP; Oracle E-Business Suite R12 is an advantage.
5. Hands-on experience in insurance, bank guarantees, and letter of credit.
6. Knowledge of payroll accounting.
7. Excellent analytical skills, discipline, and good communication skills.
8. Computer literacy (MS Office, Accounting programs).
Physical And Mental Requirements
1. Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
2. Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
3. Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
4. Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
5. Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
6. Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
