VMware Operations Specialist Role
We are seeking a skilled VMware Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring operations related to VMware infrastructures.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Migrate Virtual Machines (VMs): Plan and conduct the migration of VMs within VMware environments to ensure seamless operation.
2. Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of VMware infrastructures to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
3. IT Resource Optimization: Manage and optimize IT resources (compute, storage, network) to meet business needs and improve efficiency.
4. Security and Stability: Implement best practices to ensure system stability and security, protecting against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
5. Incident Resolution and Performance Improvement: Collaborate with technical teams to resolve incidents and improve performance, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing disruption.
6. Task Automation: Develop and automate certain tasks using PowerShell to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
Requirements:
1. Technical Expertise: Possess in-depth technical expertise in VMware and IT infrastructures (compute, storage, networking).
2. VMware Experience: Proven experience in VMware migration and administration is essential.
3. PowerShell Proficiency: Knowledge of PowerShell scripting is an asset.
4. Collaboration Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, fostering effective collaboration and communication.
Desired Profile:
1. Advanced Degree: Hold an advanced degree in computer science or equivalent qualification from a reputable institution.
2. Similar Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the banking sector, is highly desirable.
3. Language Skills: Proficiency in German and English, or English only, is required to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
