About the Role
In this newly created role of Group Own Insurance Portfolio Manager, you will play an integral role in setting up the central own insurance portfolio management function and driving the own insurance portfolio initiatives across Swiss Re at a global and local level.
Your core responsibilities will include:
* Developing, in collaboration with key stakeholders, a clear understanding of the terms and needs as part of new covers and the renewal process.
* Managing and steering the decision-making process (strategic and operational), developing proposals for senior- and executive management approval, and interacting with various stakeholders across the business and within Group Risk, in line with pre-defined thresholds and strategic guidelines.
* Orchestrating the renewal process, as well as review, of new assets/values/employee figures.
* Leading the investigation and negotiation of alternative insurance options, taking into consideration current market developments to optimize the overall portfolio of Swiss Re own insurance covers.
* Negotiating, renewing and independently concluding insurance covers for Swiss Re within the scope of competences.
* Overseeing the claims handling to determine measures to improve operational rigour.
You will have the opportunity to contribute insights to senior partners through various reports and presentations to the Group Executive Committee.

The CRES Service Management Team steers, develops, and optimises services and the global corporate real estate portfolio. Our experts manage global services, foster process improvements through digitalisation, maintain standards and provide reporting to ensure quality and efficiency across CRES globally.
About You
We are seeking a self-motivated, proactive and open-minded team player with the ability to build, collaborate and influence, thus engaging effectively with diverse teams. You have strong critical thinking as well as excellent negotiation and influencing skills and are capable to manage multiple tasks efficiently under time constraints. You are confident dealing with ambiguous situations and adapting to a changing environment with the required flexibility and positivity.
With your pragmatic and solution-oriented approach you are able to build trust and collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their needs and find innovative ways to meet them. You enjoy working independently, managing and steering decision-making to orchestrate the renewal process and deal with different complex multi-disciplinary projects simultaneously.
An ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
* You hold a university degree or equivalent.
* You have min. 10 years of relevant experience, ideally in the insurance, or service sector.
* You have extensive insurance market awareness and technical insurance expertise.
* Prior experience in an "own insurance" related role is preferred (ideally 3-5 years)
* You are able to anticipate insurance trends and identify possible impacts / solutions for your portfolio.
* Proficiency in reviewing insurance policies and terms, identifying and sourcing alternative market options, interpreting policy offerings, and conducting analysis.
* You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
