Job description:
For our client - a well known, global Bank - we are recruiting for a key position as Big Data Modeler.
* Type of Employment: contractor role, employment through Swisslinx AG
* Duration: Start 01.04.2025/or as agreed, initial contract of 12 months, likely to be extended
* Workload: 100%
* Job location: Hybrid role with 3 days per week in the office at our client in Zürich, Switzerland, 2 days per week WFH (only allowed within Switzerland)
Job Description:
* An IT professional with strong banking experience responsible for capturing and modeling data requirements, data definitions, business rules, data quality requirements, and logical data models.
* Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.
* Closely collaborate with the Data & Analyties Program Management and stakeholders to co-design Enterprise Data Strategy and Common Data Model.
* Development, coordination, and implementation of principles, best practices, guidelines, and standards for Common Data Model and its consistency.
* Work with the development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and support development of conceptual data model.
Requirements:
* At least five years of professional experience with physical and relational data modeling.
* Understanding and translating business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
* Experience in large data migration projects and Big Data on-prem architecture (Lambda Architecture, Apache Stack).
* Performing reverse engineering of physical data models.
* Evaluating already existing data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.
* Hands-on experience with visual Data Transformation / Modeling tools (Alteryx, Dataiku, Tableau prep, Hackolade, Erwin).
* Knowledge of reference architectures, especially concerning integrated, data-driven landscapes and solutions.
* Knowledge of agile project management and methods (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
* Knowledge of Banking data products / financial sector.
* Solid knowledge around financial data classification / sensitivity.
* Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.
* Strong understanding of Data modeling standards and processes.
* Strong understanding of data modeling tools (cleansing, Meta Data etc.).
