Job Description
The Robot Learning and Interaction group at Idiap Research Institute is open to speculative applications for postdocs, PhD students, and interns. Applications can be submitted at any time.
We encourage applicants to clearly identify how they could contribute to our activities. Providing a clear research plan (one page maximum) is also recommended and will be given full attention.
Positions Available
* PhD Students:
o Appointments are typically for 4 years, conditional to successful progress, and should lead to a PhD dissertation, granted by the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
o A PhD first year annual gross salary starts at CHF 47,040.
o Candidates should hold a master's degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or applied mathematics.
o They should also demonstrate a strong background in statistics, linear algebra, C/C++ programming, Perl and/or Python scripting languages, and Linux environment.
* Postdocs:
o Postdoc appointments are typically for one year, with possibilities of renewal for a maximum of 4 years, conditional to performance.
o A postdoc first year annual gross salary starts at CHF 80,000.
o Candidates should hold a PhD degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or applied mathematics.
o They should also demonstrate excellent research experience in their field, a strong publication record, and ability to do creative and significant research with relative level of autonomy.
* Interns:
o Our internships usually last a few months and are paid.
o Candidates should also demonstrate a strong background in statistics, linear algebra, signal processing, C/C++ programming, Perl and/or Python scripting languages, and Linux environment.
