Mission
We're recruiting an Intellectual Property/Patent Attorney to join our Kudelski Intellectual Property and Innovation team. This role involves implementing our IP strategy and supporting the protection and management of our intellectual property globally.
The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience in computer sciences, drafting patent applications, and communicating with technical and business clients. A background in trademark prosecution and maintenance, as well as trade secret and copyright protection, is desirable.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities:
1. Familiarize yourself with our various technologies (cybersecurity, Internet of Things, video content management/security/delivery) to develop a deep understanding of our businesses and technologies.
2. Drive innovation and capture inventions arising out of our businesses and technologies.
3. Conduct innovation sessions with inventors worldwide.
4. Assess invention disclosures and conduct prior art analysis to select submissions for review by our patent committee.
5. Participate in regular patent committee meetings to review inventions and make operational decisions.
6. Stay current with patent law changes and support education of best practices for European Patent Office and worldwide patent systems.
7. Review and manage outside counsel following guidelines and budget for preparation and prosecution of patent applications.
8. Manage office actions, foreign filings, appeals, continuations, new filings, and draft portions of applications to ensure compliance with global patent systems.
9. Support case development for licensing and patent litigation in support of competitive threats and targets within our IP strategy.
10. Analyze applications/patents considered for use in licensing, acquisition, or divestiture.
