Position Summary

As a Laboratory Technician in NPTC Nutrition at the Konolfingen site, your primary role will be to plan and execute experiments in the Food Biotechnology area, working closely with R&D scientists.
A Day in the Life of a Laboratory Technician
* Together with R&D scientists, plan, execute & document wet lab experiments, i.e., fermentations and drying of probiotic bacteria at laboratory scale.
* Conduct analysis of probiotic bacteria using both classical and diverse modern microbiological methods.
* Participate in the maintenance of the microbiology laboratory and its related equipment; all in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
* Organize laboratory operations, including preparing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), in cooperation with the team.
* Support Nestlé factories and analytical labs on method implementation & mastership.
* Coach and train students.
What will make you successful
* VET (CFC) of Laboratory Technician in biology or equivalent.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of microbiology and/or biotechnology.
* Experience in the field of lactic acid bacteria is an asset.
* Experience in the development and use of molecular biology methods is an asset.
* Ability to work autonomously and possess good organizational skills, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
* Good communication skills (written and oral) in English; German is an asset.
* Good knowledge of MS Office tools, specifically proficient in Excel.
