Technical Officer
Reporting to the Director of the Standardization Division
A Technical Officer is assigned to a group of Technical Committees (TC) and participates in their management in collaboration with the Committee’s Chair and Secretary.

Your mission
* support and guide strategic and technical activities led by the Standardization Management Board (SMB)
* ensure and facilitate the advancement of the standardization work and the efficient operation of assigned committees/groups by providing expert guidance
* build trustful relationships and support Committee/Group Officers in managing the standardization work in compliance with the Principles of Standardization and ISO/IEC Directives, the IEC strategy and the SMB decisions.
A typical day
* assist and advise Committees on the procedures to process documents into standards
* ensure the standards development projects meet their deadlines by proactively engaging with the Committee Officers (and project leaders, convenors or experts where appropriate)
* facilitate conflict resolutions within or between committee (s) (Including CoC)
* ensure upwards and downwards link with the SMB, including consideration of matters raised by National Committees about standardization work
* act as a change agent internally and towards Committees, share information on latest tools, provide input to the IEC Academy or directly train TCs to build their capacity
* ensure the correctness of the project’s documentation and related up-to-date data on the IEC website
* provide two-way interface between IEC Secretariat and the committee
Expertise required to be successful
* University degree, preferably in either electrical/electronic engineering or telecommunications
* broad understanding of and interest in IEC’s technical area of activity
* project and programme management, including time management (respect of deadlines)
* excellent written and verbal communication in English; other languages a plus
* solid working knowledge of relevant digital tools, curious about, able to learn, assimilate and understand the impacts of current and future technologies
* available for international travel
