About the Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Specialist for our Ibex-facility in Visp. In this role, you will be responsible for executing operational activities in assigned manufacturing areas (Upstream, Downstream, or Buffer Media and Production Support processing) for a large-scale 6x20kL Scale Drug Substance Mammalian facility.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, execute, and document manufacturing campaigns in mammalian cell culture.
* Lead multi-disciplinary project teams as Functional Lead for manufacturing aspects of assigned products.
* Prepare and execute SHE, EM, operation, and cleaning risk analysis, implementing and controlling measures.
* Establish timely and qualitative production documentation specific to assigned production areas.
* Ensure state-of-the-art regulatory requirements are implemented in corresponding assets and products.
* Perform manufacturing activities according to cGMP guidelines, ensuring batch execution, evaluating test results, resolving issues, and troubleshooting equipment.
* Work as a production expert in capital investment projects, delivering input required for manufacturing unit setup, commissioning, and qualification.
* Implement GMP documents for respective areas.
* Train operators for manufacturing of assigned products.
* Support Plant Manager and Head Manufacturing Staff in training and planning tasks.
* Represent Lonza Manufacturing unit during customer audits and visits.
* Execute innovation and improvement projects comprising general manufacturing aspects.
* Ensure technical and process standardization within the production plant.
Qualifications and Skills Required
* Bachelor/Master Degree.
* Preferred area of study: Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.
* Broad biotechnology expertise and/or knowledge in biotechnical engineering, preferably in Mammalian cell culture.
* Fluent in both German and English.
* GMP understanding.
* Strong leadership skills, communication skills, and interaction with various interfaces.
* Strong team orientation.
* Structured, focused, and well-organized working attitude, open-minded for new ideas.
* High motivation and dynamic drive, solution-oriented.
